Yep. It’s a Pee-wee Herman anti-crack ad.

Some people’s dogs

January 24, 2008 By: Aaron Wrixon Category: links No Comments →

Here’s a Jack Russell-type pooch meting out justice the only way he knows how.

Fun stuff. Until the dog chokes on a balloon, of course.

But until then… Enjoy.

Stevie Wonder on Sesame Street, 1972(?)

January 10, 2008 By: Aaron Wrixon Category: links No Comments →

These seven minutes are probably more responsible for me wanting to play music than anything else.

There’s no way I could have seen this in its first run, since I wasn’t even born until the next year. So I’m not sure when I actually caught it. The memories I have of it lead me to guess late ’70s, very early ’80s.

Thinking back on it now, I realize I thought — although I didn’t have the words to express it at the time — “Holy shit. I need to do that.”

The ironic thing is this is the sort of bad influence my parents were trying to keep me away from by sitting me in front of Sesame Street in the first place.

Sedition Street was brought to you today by the letter F, and the letter U.

Daddy’s Little Princess

January 07, 2008 By: Aaron Wrixon Category: links No Comments →

I’ve lost track of how long ago I wrote this, but I figure it’s been at least 10 years.

If memory serves (and it’s not this morning, sorry) I recored an a capella version up in Kitchener with Nelson. Let me get on trying to dig that up. In the meantime, here it is for your edification.

Open up the lines: I want to speak.
I haven’t said a thing in well over a week.
My mind is full and I have got to let my thoughts fly.
My parrot genius is foaming at the beak.

Open up your eyes to the sadness there.
Daddy’s little princess is growing out her hair.
She’s getting bored and she has places she would rather be,
And other people for whom she’d rather care.

Someone? Anyone? Help me someone…
My wax-winged shadow is rising to the sun.
My wax-winged shadow is rising to the sun.

Lupe Fiasco — Daydreamin’ (Live on Letterman 2006)

Lupe on Letterman the other night reminded me of the last time he was there.

This clip is great. Absolutely fantastic.

Can’t tell what this is an ad for, but it just made my day week life.
